Theadora Curtis
She finally lost sight of it
and the darkness was everything
Purple darkness
Plush
The stars weren’t harsh and singular
but speckled – glitter – together & apart
They winked and smiled
They laughed in a chorus
Had she thought all of that below was real?
They laughed and laughed
Her body moved in soft waves
She moved like she was in water
Then swirling
Gentle and quick, upside down and sideways
She moved like she was tracing the Milky Way
Her hands looked different
They gleamed, pearly
Every childhood dream came back to her and they were solid
Memories
Had she thought down there was real?
She glowed with the stars
They all laughed & laughed
